Once you click play, it might take a while, but the game will launch in a small square window. Then go to the Advanced tab and type in -w in order to make the game launch in windowed mode. You can do this by right-clicking on the sims 2 in your Origin Library and then selecting Game properties. The solution was launching the game in windowed mode. No error message or anything (Btw, if you get the DirectX 9c error message, this solution will work for you too).

I have been trying to run this game on my newer 2018 gaming PC which has a ryand rx580 gpu. To anyone experiencing this issue, I have found a solution!!! After trying so many different things, this solution works. You just have to go into the graphics rule file of the sims 2 and hard-code the resolutions in the right places.

If you are having issues with seeing the right resolution in the game options, you should google graphic rules.sgr for info on how to fix that. Dont worry, once you get into a neighborhood, you should be able to change the resolution to your display's resolution and it will enlarge the window to fill just about your whole screen.

If you are using Windows and do not have a third-party antivirus software, add an exception to Windows Defender.To anyone experiencing this issue, I have found a solution!!! After trying so many different things, this solution works. If you do not know how, please google “how to add exceptions in (the name of your antivirus).

If the first solution won’t work, add S4S to exceptions in your antivirus software.

If you will change it, make sure to close S4S for it to update

make sure the game path in the S4S settings is set to \The Sims 4\, not \The Sims 4\Game\ or \The Sims 4\Game\Bin\.

If anyone has had this issue and knows a working fix that won't have me messing with all my computer properties, I would be very grateful. I tried to see if like a path was wrong but I don't know really where the path actually goes, but I imagine it is supposed to be the Sims 4 folder. I tried running it as administrator and still nothing. I go to Create CAS Standalone and nothing from the actual Sims 4 is showing up. But recently, I don't know why, nothing has been showing up. I've been using S4S for a long time now and its worked fine. I don't know if this is the right place to put this as it's my first time posting on the S4S forums, but it is Creator Help so here we go.
